Dearest Sec 4s,

we are extremely sorry to inform all of you that there will not be a chalet this year. As much as we hope that this is a joke, it is not. The sec 3 exco is not able to plan the chalet as we have a trip to Thailand this year. We really tried to fit a chalet into our schedules, but due to exams and booking restrictions, we are not able to book a chalet, and have a proper farewell for all of you. We sincerely apologise and we did not really plan for everything to be this way. The sec 4 exco has also asked us whether there would be a farewell party for you all, and it need not be in a chalet, however, many of our schedules clash and thus many of the board and the exco members are not able to make it. Thus, there would not be a PC chalet. we are REALLY guilty, and we are EXTREMELY SORRY.

Please do not make us feel any worse than we already are. And we're SO SORRY. Please remember that even though there isn't a chalet or a farewell, we still love you. Thank you.

P.S. Actually this is a joke. HAHAHA to all you gullible fools who actually believed. *hint hint* sec 4 exco ^^

Hi guys! :D I havent had the chance to say a proper THANK YOU and GOODBYE to all of you. Sorry I couldn't make it for the farewell but I hope you guys enjoyed the nerds and marshmallow we got for all of you. First and foremost, thank you for everything, the letters and the gifts, it was really sweet of you guys!

Anyway, thank you for your cooperation throughout our term and I really appreciate it a lot! Taking time off and helping us out. You guys are a really awesome bunch to work with! It has been really easy to work with all of you. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to bond the board further and it is part of my fault with all the events happening. So my wish is for you guys to stay close and stay as a UNIQUE FAMILY. Remember, if you need help or anything, the board is behind you all the way, supporting and encouraging along your long arduous journey.

IF YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP, REMEMBER WHY YOU HELD ON FOR SO LONG IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Hello prefects! Here are some updates on the upcoming PC Chalet.

1) Please meet at Pasir Ris MRT Station on 19 Nov at 2.30pm
2) Contact either Rachel Loke or Yi Xin if you are going to be late as they will be meeting and bringing you people to the chalet
3) Amazing Race and New Leader's Welcome will be on 20 Nov so please come early on that day. Somewhere before 12.20pm
4) Details on the Internet can be found as to how to get there. Remember, the chalet we're going to is PASIR RIS COSTA SANDS RESORT. Because there is another costa sands resort at downtown east so do take note. It isn't very far from Pasir Ris MRT station, about 10 min. There's also a shuttle bus service that you can take from there.

Also, please remember to write your letters to the sec 4s by the 20th as the BBQ and farewell will be held that night. As for the PCs who have just joined us, you don't have to write to the sec 4s because you don't really know them.

So we hope most of you can make it for the chalet and hype yourselves up 'cos we have many activities lined up for you!

Oh and for those who have yet to pay their $15 to Xin Yu, please do so asap because we really need to pay Wee Ming's mother back. You can also pass it to any exco members if you see them around. If not, just bring it when you come for the chalet.

when i first became a new pc at the end of sec 2, i felt really really distant from the rest of the board esp the old pcs (HAHA pardon the phrase , old people) .
and in sec three through all the events i got to work with them more, even though we dont really spend time other than working and meeting there's just this very warm feeling of being in the board.
and then the newer pcs came in through the ppl ,
i rmb i had such a hard time remembering names!

Hellohello everyone in THE BLACK SHOE GANG.

So, today was Leaders' Invest, and I hope everyone had a super duper great day today, cos today was your day! We were like the 'finale' leadership board, weren't we?(:

Yup, a huge THANK YOU to all the PCs who ran around frantically during the rehearsals trying to make sure everything went right, a super huge THANK YOU to the 3 ICs, Exco 10-11 and all the souve,decor,IT comm members, and whatever other committees there were.

The AVANT GARDE decor on the column was cute! and so were the souvenirs!
If you've seen the souve, you would know what I mean.
Such a creative idea, and I love the fluffy mask thing!

So, as of today, me and the rest of the sec4 PCs have officially stepped down.
Frankly, I feel like a huge part of me is just missing,

cos CPB was really a huge part of my life for the past 2 years.

I'm feeling sad,

but I'm also very glad that I had the opportunity to be part of such a fabulous group of people.

Okay, I'm just blabbering away, and I think you're getting tired of reading this.

So, I shall end of with:

Sec2 PCs: Just keep it up and always give your best to CPB! It was great to have known you cute people!(: And thank you for all your contributions so far!

Here are some information for you guys to take note before THE DAY!

Transport:

Secondary 2 & 3 PCs: 1.30pm @ Pasir Ris MRT. Meet Kaushi, Heather, Charlotte.

Secondary 1 PCs: 2.00pm @ Pasir Ris MRT. Meet Joy, Niza.

*Those who are able to go straight there yourself, please do! Just be there by 3pm.

** Secondary 4 PCs: You can come anytime! preferably for dinner, around 6.30pm. Dinner starts at 7pm.

Besides enjoying yourselves and having made new friends in the board, we hope that the senior prefects would have taken this time to reflect on their performance as a PC this year. It was impressive to read your reflections (:
As for the junior prefects, we hope that you feel welcomed into the board. We are very happy that all of you have come to join the board. Our advice to you is to 'cherish your moments' in CPB cos its going to be an amazing, interesting and fruitful journey ahead!

G'day, fellow friends!

Yeap, it's me, posting from Perth. I'm kinda rushing a Literature assignment now, so I'll keep this short and sweet.

Basically, I just wanna congratulate the new Exco of 2009! Gosh, when Joy Priya told me about it over Facebook, I was almost so ready to run around the house ten times shouting "OMG, OMG, OMG!" because I'm just so proud of you guys. Somehow, it feels like forever since I've seen you lil' monkeys and it makes me so sad that I can't be in Singapore to hear the announcement and see you guys going through the attachment period. ANYHOO, all the best in your journey ahead :} It's going to be one heck of an interesting endeavour; so make the most out of it.

As for the rest of the other lil' monkeys in the whole CPB, 'm hoping that all of you are doing fine as well :} Really miss all of you so much!!! Take care of yourselves, k, and look forward to Leaders' Investiture (which is going to be oh-so-excitingggggg).

HPC ELECTIONS
ARE BACK IN BUSINESS

Yup, on Tuesday, the nominees for HPC 2009-2010 were announced during morning assembly. They are...

1) Joy Tan :D

Congratulations the 3 of you. I'm sure all of you will make this years elections thrilling and enjoyable for the whole school. I believe that all of you are capable of shining and have shone in the Board. So do us proud and show the school what you're made of!

To the other Sec 3s, don't be discouraged, for the Board to flourish, all prefects need to be committed to it. There will be plenty of opportunities for all of you to take the lead (eg teachers day, leaders invest etc) and I'm sure the nominees will need all the support they can get in these coming weeks. Advanced congrats to those of you who make it into ExCo '09-'10. Although the final decisions haven't been made, I assure you, everything will be decided and confirmed by the end of T2.

So, PCs, I hope all of you are coping well with studies and your other commitments. T2W4 is almost over cos tomorrow's Thursday and then after that's Friday and then it's the WEEEKENDDDDDD. yay!

Hello PCs!

It seems like this blog has been neglected for far too long! I'm here to brighten up the blog with updates in CPB and things you can look forward to this term.

1) More bonding sessions!
Yes, we decided to organise a few bonding sessions this term to allow us to get to know each other better. Currently, we're thinking of possible names to call these 'bonding sessions' so if you have any suggestions, please approach any ExCo member.

2) Sec 2 Appraisals!
Yes, this time round, the Sec 2s will be appraised based on their work this year. It'll be held sometime in W3/W4 so be on alert for Joy Yuen's wonderful smses to inform you of your appraisal time and date. Also, do check the PC Board for more updates with regards to your appraisal.

3) National Track & Field (22 April,W5)
Yep yep yep, it's going to be that time of the year again. We'll be designing banners and readying logistics for the BIG day. National Track is usually an exciting event so I'm sure all of you will enjoy it. Btw, it's an excellent time for us to show off our Cedar spirit. Hope all of you come with loud voices to cheer to the death.

4) HPC Elections!
HPC elections will begin sometime this term, so I hope all of you will show your undying love for all the nominees! More updates about this closer to the date.

5) Communications Workshops
The upcoming dates for the workshops are as follows: 31/3, 9/4, 16/4, 21/4, 30/4
They will be held from 3:30-4:30pm and 75% attendance is required. Ms Kearns will write announcements in the announcement book about the venues or if any changes are made to the current dates.

I hope all of you are happy with T2. I bet everyone's jumping about since the weekend's here. Don't forget to rest too PCs. Oh! And remember, tomorrow we have speech day, so sleep EARLY tonight and drink lots of water so that tomorrow you'll wake up bright and early, READY TO SERVE THE SCHOOL! Guess who I am! :)

Just wanna drop by and say "Hello" from Perth. I hope everybody is doing fine back there, yeah? It's been about...6 weeks since school has started for y'all, and I am sure your weeks are packed to the brim with activities, meetings, after-school commitments and what not. HOHO, I suddenly remember the hectic life back in Cedar. It does feel a bit weird having so much free time here :O But I'm slowly getting used to it.

So, Cedar fiesta is coming up! Along with Valentine's Day, Speech Day, exams...the list could go on and on. Is everyone excited about it? I wish I could be there. I've heard about the embarassing announcements and "glamorous" posters. All the best for your upcoming events, k? Show them what CPB is made out of!

School in Australia is very different to Singapore :O Overall, we still have more homework because there isn't much "study". The school rules are very different too, hurhurhur. I shall let all of you guess what my skirt length is :) I'm studying in a small, private school. The entire compound is only about the size of our school's first floor (I'm not joking). But yeah, it's got a homey feeling, and everyone knows everyone else here, so it's like a big family. Makes me miss Cedar...

Oh well, I guess all of you are tired of reading my post already. Shall let your eyes rest, and I'm presuming that the only reason you come online is to do proposals. SO CHOP CHOP, FINISH YOUR FRIENDLY PAPERWORK BEFORE JOY PRIYA/SARAH LEONG START CHASING YOU!

Hello my dear PCs.

I was actually going to say 'Hello baby flamingos' but nah. So, yesterday was Cedar Musical and the ushers had a blast! Right? haha well, we had our good times ushering people back and forth and guarding reserved seats. I was really happy I managed to catch the musical because like I said, it's a significant milestone in Cedar history. Perhaps in future, Cedar will consider hosting more musicals because nothing's more worth it than showcasing the arts! Plus the cast and crew were so diverse (Some performers from volleyball, NPCC, NCC, etc..) It just goes to show that a) you don't have to have formal training to be a star and b) Cedarians are naturally gifted with singing and dancing capabilities. haha

So we took this hurried picture at the end of the day. Thank you ushers for making the first and last part of the event organised! Congratulations to all Maid in Singapore performers and musicians! *hinthint* It went really well yesterday!

Leaders' Investiture 2008 was great. I don't know how I'm supposed to write this post because there are just too many things to say. Ironically, everything I want to say can be expressed in a single word: Joy.

Yes, Joy. No, not because my name is Joy, but because I feel joy. Honestly, I've only felt true joy on a few occasions, invest being one of them.. or rather, being on stage and being invested as the new Head Prefect Councillor. Walking to the podium, seeing hopeful Cedarian faces, walking back to the choral risers, and seeing the board, the exco, my friends standing together as one.

Together as one.

Last night, I was sitting up in bed, thinking about how I could document the Investiture in my diary. I couldn't, I really couldn't. There were just too many experiences, too many feelings and too many people to love. So many people to thank. Too many people to thank.

So perhaps, instead of writing about not being able to do the Investiture justice by writing about it, let's move forward. Let's move forward together. I came home from the Investiture on Friday. My feet were numb, really, numb, from running around in court shoes and my hair was a mess (as usual haha) but I flopped myself on my bed and listened to this song (which also happened to be the song stuck in my head throughout the course of the Investiture):

I shall let our new head prefect do the honours of posting about the investiture. I'm just here to say that if anyone wants a copy of the Channel News Cedar video, I'll be burning them into a CD and it'll be circulated around. THAT IS, if anyone wants it :D Let me know, yeahh.

To those who've been surviving on sleepless nights and messed up appetites, take the weekend to have a good rest, find your sanity again, and get prepared for another roller coaster ride. Good job, prefects! (and PSLs, if you're reading this.)

P.S. Please remember to wear your new badges and tie (if you received them). Do NOT wear your school badges! But keep them for memory's sake :D Ahahaha. See y'all on Monday.

It really was the bomb, yozxzxzxzxzxzxzxz! That seemed to be the most happening day ever in school. I wonder if they'll let us do this every term or something :O Hoho, keep wishing :D

Anyway, good job to the ICs: Heather, Kashmira and Sherilynn. We could see you guys running up and down backstage and looking really stressed, but it was a success and hope that you guys have enjoyed the planning process. Look forward to more events, Sec2s! :D

Leaders' Investiture is coming up in less than a week, guys. It's time to just give it our best and impress the guests 'til their socks fly off!

Hello, hello! :D

The June holidays (whether that is the appropriate term or not) are over and so is the first week of school. Hope that everyone is still hanging on and doing fine, yeahh? :D

Leaders' Investiture is coming very, very soon! Some of us are excited, some are nervous and anxious. BUT nevertheless, all of us shall work together to ensure the event is a success, alright? We're hosting guests in this holding site, but it shan't hold us back from impressing their socks off :D

"No pain, no gain". There's a lot of work to be done, so please do try to clear the next 2 weeks for investiture preparations. It won't be easy, but we will pull through together still :D

P.S. The prefects' photo is out and with Huda (I think). Rest assured, all of us are looking good and fine :D There should be an order list going around soon. The 5R size is $3 and the 8R size is $6. This year's is of excellent quality, so do purchase one! :D

this is to let you know that we will be starting to paint the mural on tuesday, 24 June 2008, after school.
We will be staying back almost everyday to paint the mural as the mural have to be done by leaders investiture, 11 June.

I suppose everything's been said already, so I can only wish everyone a very FULFILLING holiday. Perhaps this will be the June holiday where you find out your purpose in life, or why the grasshopper hops where the wind blows or how to grow a third arm.

how're all the black-shoers doing?

holidays are here! and some of you must be really beeeeeeeeeeeeeezy right? especially the sec3s who are taking over the sec4s soon.
in any case, dont neglect any peecee stuffs! eg. the day camp on 12th june conducted by mr kang (sec4s can choose to go for it or not), outings within your own level (?), leaders invest prep, etc etc etc.

we gotta keep going and not let our peecee spirit die okay! sec2 and 3 pcs, i know you guys can bridge that gap ( you know what i mean! ) haha. the sec2s are more to the quiet side. the sec 3s are slightly louder. SEE. OPPOSITES ATTRACT! that's why i have confidence that you guys will work well together even after the sec4s retire (:
congrats to the new exco again! & keep up the enthusiasm to lead the school. but dont get over-board! hehe many eyes are on you

Upcoming events:

1. Leaders' Investiture! (It's gonna be BIG! :D)
2. Recruitment of new pupil leaders
3. National Day Parade
4. Teachers' Day (Another BIG event!)

All this is going to be cramped in Term 3 and preparations for all of them will be over the June holidays. Yes, it's hardwork, but always enjoy the process and embrace the accomplished feeling after everything! The meeting with Ms Lizah was long, but thankfully productive :D And I must say, there's a lot in store for the Prefectorial Board! So brace yourselves, prefects :D

JUNE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE! (And so is Cross Country. What mood should I put here?)

Well, it wouldn't really be holidays since all of us have events to plan, courses to attend and homework to do...but nevertheless, try to at least get a break for recomposure, alright? Don't stress out so much over the holidays and get some rest :D Prepare yourselves for the BIG stuff, yeahh! :D

Hey ppl! its been about hundred million years since i last posted anything on any blog; so i am really sorry if my first post turns out to be crappy! Term's coming to a close end and we peecees have loads to look forward to!

Hi, ha myes are over and i have decided it's time i blog before stepping down/ there's no time/ i forget the password or everyone not realising i do visit th blog.

Recess has been rather empty lately :O

Continue to work hard for your mid-year exams, Sec4s! The weather is now torturous and the sun is spreading its merciless heat against our will now, so please drink more water to prevent yourself from dehydrating. It wouldn't be nice to dry up in the midst of mugging, would it?

What doesn't kill you will make you stronger.

P.S. Should you choose the latter, please avoid using biodiesel ones. If you have read the newspapers (which you should have, for the sake of current affairs in your English essay), food scientists are protesting to cut down on the use of biodiesel to increase the amount of food we have. That, in turn, will hopefully lower the jaw-dropping cost of rice now. And you know what? This entire paragraph was completely rubbish, hurhur.

IT'S OVER!

Hmms, despite being all nervous and anxious about the campaign speeches, all 3 of us found it really enjoyable :D The discussions, the humour, the eloquence, the "oomph" in it all...this seemed to be the most intimidating part, yet is the one I loved the most, hoho.

It's greatest credits to Joy Priya and Nasuha for making the process so enjoyable, :D Thanks for the assurance, pep talk and group hug! They were all reassuring, and I'm grateful for everything that you have done through this whole process. This journey is made memorable because of you two, so cheers!

As for the results? Hurhur, the school deserves the best head prefect, and the students deserve their best role model. The 3 of us learnt a lot from the elections, and that is all that matters :D
